One of the activities in Room 4 during the Literacy Week was multilingual reading. Grace and Eric were reading to the rest of the class in Korean, Nazuna in Japanese, Polly in Chinese, Masha in Serbian and Osuka, from Sri Lanka, was reading in Sinhalese. Room 4 were fantastic listeners and enjoyed listening to their friends read fluently and confidently in their mother tongues. Japan Earthquake Charity Event

On Sunday, I came to school, and enjoyed the Japan Earthquake Charity Event. There was a lot of yummy Japanese food, like sushi, chicken, soup, dumplings… I bought some chicken and dumplings. Then I sat on the grass to watch the Japanese drum .It was awesome, people danced and played the drum .After it I went into the hall, there were lots of little hand made things. They were very beautiful. When I was going to go home, I saw a special shop, It was selling some T-shirts and at the fount of the T-shirt it writes “Japan”. You can colour the “Japan, too .I had a very good weekend.

The show was long and funny. The whole school went to the show. We also danced along with them. It was awesome. After the show it was the end of the day. We got a Polka Dot CD. It was cool.

New Students at Milford School

This week we would like to introduce new people in one of the groups in ESOL Department. Rosa (Japan), Arnold (India) and Luke (Korea) have been good friends to Max (Austria) and Saga (Sweden). Both Max and Saga like Milford School but think English is a way harder to learn than German and Swedish. They have settled well and are looking forward to new learning experiences.
