Celebrations in NZ

Year 3 students have been learning about Celebrations and Festivals this term. Because we all came from different countries, our inquiry was related to celebrations in New Zealand - we wanted to find out more about most important holidays (celebrated in NZ) when we go to our ESOL class. We have learnt a lot of  new words. By learning new words, we can express ourselves better when we write and when we speak. By making posters about Celebrations, we have shown how creative we are.

BACK THE BLACKS DAY

To show our support as a NZ school, we are encouraging our students (and staff) to wear black clothes to school this Friday. It is a mufti day with a difference.

Andreas, Parham, Ruby, Eden and Joel having an awesome day at school- all dressed up as their favourute characters.
Every year in term two, Milford School celebrates Literacy and our students are given opportunities to explore it in many different ways. We have visiting authors, literacy quiz, book fair etc. The highlight is always our Book Parade, when the students dress as their favourite book characters. Our ESOL students love dressing up and take part in this event.
