HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES

HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES - a current Unit of Inquiry for our year 5 students is being studied in ESOL, too.  To be able to express ourselves in a more sophisticated manner, our students are learning how to use proverbs and idioms in spoken and written language.

Year three students have started a new Unit of Inquiry : HOW THE WORLD WORKS, with the central idea - Scientific understandings are gained through curiosity- observation and experimentation.

In their ESOL class, they have been curious while observing and happy while experimenting. They are excellent communicators and have great key vocabulary of the current UOI knowledge. Having learnt so much, their thinking can be expressed in English very accurately and confidently.

LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES - CARING

SHARING THE PLANET

Year Three students' Unit of  Inquiry "Sharing the Planet" has been celebrated in their ESOL class. They have been reading a very inspirational text called On Thin Ice - about sharing the planet with, almost extinct, polar bears.  They have learnt many new words and can use facts to describe what polar bears look like, what they eat and how climate change is affecting them. They are caring and they know what we can do to make our planet a better place for all

HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES

Year one and year three students are learning how using correct word order and verb forms will help them express themselves better.

COMMUNICATORS

We are so proud of our Year two students who can write in different languages. Some can read, too, and all of them can speak fluently. What an amazing group of COMMUNICATORS.
